Steve Steele

CLEVELAND - Steve Steele, age 63, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at his home. 

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, March 13, 2020, at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  Then again from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Immanuel Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in the North Cleveland Cemetery. Dr. Steve Huber will officiate the services.
 
Steve was born on February 8, 1957, to Joe and Willie Marie (Kuykendall) Steele in Cleveland, MS.  He attended Lee Academy where he received his high school diploma. He married Marilyn Oswalt Steele on October 2, 1982, at First Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS. Steve was the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor for Bayer Crop Services. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and doing woodwork. He also enjoyed target shooting and teaching his kids about life. He had a passion for gardening and bird watching and teaching his kids about those.  He was a former chairman of Deacons at Immanuel Baptist Church and was also affiliated with the Bolivar County EOC.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Steele and Willie Marie Kuykendall Steele as well as his nephew Scott Hampton Steele. He was also preceded in death by his K-9 friend's Angel Steele and Sissy Steele. 

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 37 Years, Marilyn Steele of Cleveland, MS;  Son, Shawn Kirk (Amy) Steele of Cleveland, MS;  Daughter, Shelly Stinson (Amber) Steele of Cleveland, MS;  Grandson, Landon Steve Steele of Cleveland, MS; Sister, Sandra Gay Darnell of Ocean Springs, MS;  Brother, John Shade (Kathy) Steele of Rena Lara, MS;   Sister, Patricia Clare Steele of Brandon, MS; Brother, Scott (Janet) Steele of Hollandale, MS; Nephews, William Duff Darnell of Ocean Springs, MS; Niece, Dana Darnell (Ryan) Rubenstein of Ocean Springs, MS; Great Nephew, Cooper Darnell of Ocean Springs, MS; Great Nephew, Nash Darnell of Ocean Springs, MS; Great Nephew, Connor Shade Steele of Pellahatchie, MS. He also leaves behind his K-9 friend Dezzy Steele.

Pallbearers will be William Duff Darnell, Bobby Mitchell, Earl Coleman, Jason Reed, Scott Reed, Jeff Johns, Brant Godbold, Rex Green. Honorary pallbearers are Dean Serio, Ed Ballard, David Baker, and Terry Dye.
