Upton Hunter Burchfield

Upton Hunter Burchfield, a 23-year-old resident of Oxford, MS, passed away on May 15, 2023, in El Reno, Oklahoma. Born on March 31, 2000, to Jerry Donald Burchfield Jr. and Amber Hollie Eubanks Ferguson in Tupelo, MS, he attended Oxford High School and North West Mississippi Community College.

Hunter had a great love for music and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was passionate about drawing and animals. It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to this young soul.

Hunter is preceded in death by his grandfathers; Tommy Ferguson Sr., and Timothy Paul Eubanks. He is survived by his mother Amber Ferguson (Tommy Jr.) of Mantachie, MS; father Jerry Burchfield Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers Avery Ferguson of Mantachie, MS and Jerrick Burchfield of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters Emma Ferguson and Jacey Burchfield; grandmothers Denyse Ferguson of Cleveland, MS; Alice Wilson Bright of Drew, MS; and Tammy Pitts of Mt. View, AR; grandfathers Ricky Hopper of Cleveland and Jerry Burchfield Sr. of Germany.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 20th at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. The Celebration of Life service will follow at the same location at 2:00 PM with Reverend Clarence Edwards presiding over the service.

Hunter's passing has brought sadness to those who knew him but we pray his memory will continue to bring joy to all who knew him.

The service arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home during this difficult time.
