Vernon Richard Haines

Mr. Vernon Richard Haines, age 86, passed away on October 3, 2024, at his home in Boyle.

Vernon was born in Mount Holly, NJ to Orville Haines and Dorothy Lambert Haines. He attended Rancocas Valley Regional High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served in the Navy for 7 years. After his stint in the Navy, he moved to Cleveland, MS, and married Evie Haines in 1969 they were married until her death in 1999. Vernon was employed with Scott Electric until he retired in 1999. He married Judy Hainline Haines in 2004. Vernon was a loving husband, devoted Christian, and Member of Shepherd's Chapel Church in Gravit AR. Vernon loved to work in the yard, and build houses. He was a loving husband and grandfather, and his grandson Cody was the apple of his eye. Vernon was a member of the local Tuesday Night Pickers where each Tuesday he gave his all picking his guitar. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Dorothy Haines, 3 brothers, Ronald, Curlis, and Orville Haines.

 Vernon is survived by his wife of 20 years Judy Haines of Boyle, MS, grandson Cody Haines, of Boyle, MS, granddaughter Layla Roberts of Cleveland, MS, and stepson Kendall Roberts of Boyle, MS. He also leaves 3 siblings Michael Haines of Alderson, WV, William Haines of Burlington, NJ, Marie Haines of Tabernacle, NJ future great-grandchild-in-law Kayla Guthrie and several nieces and nephews.

 The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Brother John Ferguson will officiate the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Haines, Kendall Roberts, Cody Haines, Tracy Malone, and the Tuesday Night Pickers. 

 Cleveland Funeral Home has been given the honor of serving Vernon's family during this difficult time.
